Tropical Passion Fruit Bars: An Incredible Ultimate Recipe

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Crust:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • For the Filling:
  • 1 cup passion fruit pulp (fresh or canned)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Make the Crust: In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, melted butter, and salt. Mix until the mixture resembles wet sand.
  3. Press the Crust: Press the crust mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
  4. Prepare the Filling: In another bowl, whisk together the passion fruit pulp, eggs, 1 cup of sugar, 1/3 cup of flour, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
  5. Pour Filling: Pour the filling over the pre-baked crust, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake Again: Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly firm to the touch.
  7. Cool: Remove the bars from the oven and allow them to cool in the pan on a wire rack for at least 30-40 minutes.
  8. Chill: For best results, refrigerate the bars for an hour before slicing.
  9. Slice: Once chilled, slice into squares or bars.
  10. Dust with Powdered Sugar: Just before serving, dust the top with powdered sugar for an elegant finish.
