Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4 skewers (wooden or metal)
  • Optional: chocolate syrup, crushed nuts, or coconut flakes for topping

Instructions

  1. Peel the bananas and cut them in half lengthwise. Insert skewers into each banana half.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves and mixture turns golden brown.
  3. Carefully dip each banana half into the caramel, ensuring they are well-coated.
  4. Preheat your grill to medium heat or a grill pan on the stovetop.
  5. Place coated bananas on the grill. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until caramel is bubbling and slightly charred.
  6. Remove bananas from the grill and let cool for about 5 minutes.
  7. Add optional toppings like chocolate syrup, crushed nuts, or coconut flakes.
  8. Serve the Caramelized Banana Cue warm.
