An Amazing Ultimate Recipe for Caramel Apple Bread Pudding

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups day-old bread, cubed (such as brioche or challah)
  • 3 cups milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Place the cubed bread into a large mixing bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet mixture over the bread cubes, gently folding to ensure all pieces are coated. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the liquid.
  5. Fold in the diced apples and nuts (if using) into the bread mixture.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  7. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the top of the bread mixture.
  8. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the pudding is set.
  9. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool for about 15 minutes before serving.
  10. Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over the top just before serving.
