  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the maple syrup until well combined.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until smooth.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  7. If desired, fold in chopped walnuts or pecans for added texture.
  8. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  10. Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
