Ingredients
Scale
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons brown sugar
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
1–2 pounds of steak (your choice of cut)
Instructions
Collect all the ingredients necessary for the marinade.
In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, minced garlic, black pepper, onion powder, oregano, thyme, and red pepper flakes.
Place your steak in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish.
Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well-coated.
If using a bag, seal it tightly. If using a dish, cover it with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 24 hours for maximum flavor.
Take the steak out of the marinade and let it come to room temperature for about 15 minutes before cooking.
Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
Cook the steak for 4-7 minutes on each side, depending on the thickness and your desired doneness.
Once cooked, remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
Slice the steak against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.
